Summary

In the real world, when you vanish into thin air for a week, people tend to notice。

After his unexpected journey into the lands of the fey, Ethan Chase just wants to get back to normal。 Well, as "normal" as you can be when you see faeries every day of your life。 Suddenly the former loner with the bad reputation has someone to try for—his girlfriend, Kenzie。 Never mind that he's forbidden to see her again。

But when your name is Ethan Chase and your sister is one of the most powerful faeries in the Nevernever, "normal" simply isn't to be。 For Ethan's nephew, Keirran, is missing, and may be on the verge of doing something unthinkable in the name of saving his own love。 Something that will fracture the human and faery worlds forever and give rise to the dangerous fey known as the Forgotten。 As Ethan's and Keirran's fates entwine and Keirran slips further away, Ethan's next choice may decide the fate of them all。

My main problem here is that all of the conflict stems from Annwyl, who is such a nothing character, and from teenage boys making asinine decisions。 I don't really care to finish this trilogy。 My main problem here is that all of the conflict stems from Annwyl, who is such a nothing character, and from teenage boys making asinine decisions。 I don't really care to finish this trilogy。 。。。more

Once again Julie Kagawa smashes a book out of the park! I absolutely loved the sequel to The Iron Prince。 I will admit that I will NEVER forgive Keirran for what he did to Ethan! I just can't believe he would turn his back on everything and everyone that he has ever loved for the Lady。 It just baffles my mind how much his behavior changed over the course of the book。 I so wish more people read these books because they are so good。 Once again Julie Kagawa smashes a book out of the park! Will summer go to war with iron bc of Kierran’s recklessness? Who attacks a summer monarch!? - I wish kierran’s magic glamour he placed on Kenzie’s family lasted longer (ab her living w a relative and no longer need to worry ab her, so she can go tromping off to nevernever), because Ethan wouldn’t have to be afraid of the Fey AND her dad in the mortal realm。 Kid has been dealt a bad hand, for sure。 - when kierran froze mr dust’s office, who has the powder to sustain the forgotten by using children’s fear glamours, did that sever dust’s bargain with the lady of the forgotten? Will they go back to sucking glamour from the Fey? - what is leanansidhe going to do? Let’s be real, she can’t keep her nose out。 - is kierran corrupted by the lady somehow? Or is it truly his soul encaptured in the amulet annwyl wears to stay alive? Talk ab a literal leash of love lmao。 Let’s see how this ends! 。。。more

Poor baby never wanted anything to do with the Fairies and is back at it with Keirran。 I didn't hate this story as much but the choices that were made made me mad cause they were dumb。 We got all star characters appearances! 1。5 stars*the issue I have with this series is how it’s told from ethan’s pov but it’s quite frankly kierran’s story (now spelled keirran?)。 I like kagawa’s writing a lot, it’s incredibly immersive and the world she’s created is wonderful。 however, a huge part of the plot could and should have been resolved by meghan and ash。 at least, keirran and ethan should have just talked to their family… that’s what bothered me, along with how little was at stake。 the stakes weren’t high and sure, kenzie ( 1。5 stars*the issue I have with this series is how it’s told from ethan’s pov but it’s quite frankly kierran’s story (now spelled keirran?)。 I like kagawa’s writing a lot, it’s incredibly immersive and the world she’s created is wonderful。 however, a huge part of the plot could and should have been resolved by meghan and ash。 at least, keirran and ethan should have just talked to their family… that’s what bothered me, along with how little was at stake。 the stakes weren’t high and sure, kenzie (great character!) is terminally ill, but the dialogue stayed the same between her and ethan: bring me along, I want to live!, no it’s not safe, you don’t get to decide, blah blah then they kissed and made up。 it didn’t feel as deep and poignant as meghan’s and ash’s relationship。while I like ethan, even since he was a child in the iron fey with dreams and faith in his sister, this storyline does not go along that well with him。 as said, this seems to be more keirran’s story。 there should be povs of him。 or a completely different storyline that doesn’t involve keirran risking everything (you know, that prophecy) for a love story that we didn’t even get to experience first-hand and is thus, in effect, emotionally irrelevant to me。 I sadly couldn’t care enough about annwyl to accept that this storyline entirely revolves about saving her and everyone else suffers because of her, and keirran is a jerk solely because he wants to save her。 thanks, but no thanks。it makes me a bit sad, because I just love this world so much, and I would have loved for ethan and kenzie to deal with the fey world without being able to fall back on his sister’s help… but the alliance and bond between meghan and ash with the other courts is so strong, it didn’t leave an opening for more story, except create the forgotten storyline… which should, as already mentioned as well, be fixed by ash and co。 to be honest, this book sucked。 I am genuinely wondering how the third in this trilogy can save this series? or do grimalkin, puck, meghan and ash have to come to the rescue again? 。。。more

I highly entertained this book。 Everything got more interesting the more I read。 And I surprisingly didn’t despise Keirran as much as I did before。 The whole sucking his soul thing so he can save his love is enough reason to admire him more。 As for Ethan and Kenzie, I love them so much。 I kinda predicted the ending although it didn’t put me on ease。

Injured? Dead? Killed by Keirran without a seconds thought? I knew what the prophecy said but I didn’t expect is be so soon! Destroying the Veil seems like a terrible, horrible, very bad idea。 Ethan and Kenzie were both fated to die。 Ethan has fallen to Keirran, and left Kenzie behind。 I’m so excited to finish this volume and start the next! I found many parts of this book enjoyable。 I loved the goblin market。 Seeing Guro and his black magic was also really interesting。 。。。more

Happy to say that my original review from 2013 still stands。 Love that this series still hold up。 I have to say though that this time around, I am so much more sympathetic to Ethan and what he's going through。 I think the first time I read through it I had blinders on for Keirran, but man that boy is a mess and really needs to sort out his priorities。 Poor Ethan just wants to be left alone but also doesn't want to turn his back on family。 The events of the final book are fuzzy in my mind so I'm Happy to say that my original review from 2013 still stands。 Love that this series still hold up。 I have to say though that this time around, I am so much more sympathetic to Ethan and what he's going through。 I think the first time I read through it I had blinders on for Keirran, but man that boy is a mess and really needs to sort out his priorities。 Poor Ethan just wants to be left alone but also doesn't want to turn his back on family。 The events of the final book are fuzzy in my mind so I'm excited to jump into it - even though I remember the ending just left me wanting more!*Original Review from 2013*Poor Ethan Chase。 All he wanted was to be rid of the Sight and the Fey world, but once again, he finds himself sucked back into the Nevernever, surrounded by those that he hates all in the name of family。 At the end of the Lost Prince, we learned about the Forgotten – the fey who time has forgotten and have since started to fade from existence。 However, instead of fading, this group of Forgotten have taken to draining Fey of their glamour in order to survive。 Ethan and his half-fey/half-human cousin, Keirran, put a stop to this, but at what cost?In the Iron Traitor, Keirran, is missing。 Ethan journeys back into fairyland with Kenzie to look for his cousin。 Along the way, he gets help from our good ole friend, Grimalkin (who I absolutely love)。 Turns out Keirran is on a mission – a mission to save the Summer Fey that he is in love with。 Ethan and Kenzie join Keirran on his quest and this is where everything goes wrong。For those of you who have read Iron Prophecy understand why Keirran and Ethan should have never met in the first place。 It is in this book that we finally realize why。 I just adore Kagawa’s writing。 This world is so full of life, so unbelievably real that you cannot help but feel the emotions along with Ethan as he struggles with himself and with his family。 Kagawa has creted characters that jump off the page at you and refuse to be ignored, and I am glad that we’re still seeing the old favorites from the Iron Fey series。 Puck and Ash have one of my favorite bromances of all time and I just squeal with delight when they make appearances in this series。 And I have a newfound love for Razor – that damned little gremlin has weaseled his way into my heart。But I’m not going to lie, I think my heart belongs with Keirran。 I know there is something so broken and wrong with him (especially after that ending!!), but I can’t help it。 There is something about him that draws me in。 But that boy is pure trouble。 His mind is so far twisted that I do not know how he can come back from the ending。And speaking of ending… umm, excuse me, Julie, but what was that?? How can you just leave it there?? Nothing about that is okay。 And I don’t wait very well… 。。。more
